Nadia, August 25:A complaint was lodged with police on Wednesday against a BSF jawan, for allegedly pushing off his wife from the rooftop. The accused who had passed off the incident as an accident is absconding. and trying to pass it off as an accident.
Hanif Sekh, the BSF Jawan posted in Assam, had returned home at Dogachhi a few days back. At around 11pm on Tuesday he had taken his wife Mumtaz Begum, 32, to their new home which was under construction.
It happened at Dogachhi Sabjipara under Thanarpara police station in Nadia on Tuesday night,police said. The elder brother of the victim lodged a murder complaint against the jawan on Wednesday. The accused is absconding.
His new home at about 100 meter away from his paternal home is under construction. Hanif had taken his wife Mumtaz Begam (32) to show the home at about 11 pm. on Tuesday.
After a while, Hanif informed his relatives from the spot that his wife slipped off the roof and died.
However, their relatives, especially Jahiruddin Sekh, the victim’s elder brother, could not accept that the incident was an accident.
On Wednesday he lodged a complaint of murder with the local police against his brother-in-law. “Hanif is absconding,” police said.
Hanif and Mumtaz had been married for ten years. According to Rabindranath Sarkar, the Pradhan, Dogachhi panchayat, there was unrest in the life of the couple who have a young son. They have a little son too.
Local sources stated that Hanif had an illicit relationship with another female and hence he killed his wife by pushing her off the rooftop.that was why he planfully killed his wife by pushing from roof top.
