New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday chaired a meeting at his residence to review the situation in Haryana, where the protests by the Jat community have taken a violent turn.
Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi were also present during the meeting.
Meanwhile, the government has rushed Army to nine locations in the state, including Rohtak, Jind, Jhajjar, Bhiwani, Hissar, Kaithal, Sonepat, Panipat and Karnal, to contain the situation.

The strike, into the sixth day today, has crippled road and rail traffic across the state and shut down educational institutions in many places. (ANI)
