New Delhi : Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag on Sunday urged the Jat community in Haryana to call off their agitation and focus on the development of the nation.
The 37-year-old took to Twitter to express his views on the issue.
“The country’s defence forces, the sports world and others have made the country proud. We must concentrate and use our energies towards the upliftment of the Indian society,” Sehwag tweeted.
He urged the protestors to put forth their demands in a constitutional manner, insisting that they are the ‘protectors and not violators’.
At least 10 people have been killed and 150 injured as protests by the Jat community in Haryana demanding status for Other Backward Classes ( OBC)
continued for the seventh day.
The Jat stir also hit Delhi with the Centre asking the Manohar Lal Khattar-led Haryana Government to ensure that the water supply to the national capital is not disrupted. (ANI)
