Japan marks 70 years of Nagasaki bomb attack

London, Aug 9 : The city of Nagasaki in Japan is marking 70 years since the atomic bomb was dropped by the US that killed at least 70,000 in the country.

According to the BBC, a minute’s silence was observed and bells marked the time of the explosion at 11:02 at a ceremony at the Nagasaki Peace Park.

At least 70,000 died in the Nagasaki attack, which came three days after another bomb was dropped on Hiroshima.

Nagasaki was only chosen because the original target, Kokura, was obscured by a cloud. (ANI)
