Japan eyeing the consumer food and broadcasting market in ASEAN

Japanese food maker Ajinomoto’s seasoning product ‘Cook Do’ allows home chefs to easily cook delicious authentic dishes easily and quickly at home.

‘Cook Do’ was launched by Ajinomoto group in 1978 and today the product is offered in 43 variations for Chinese, Japanese and Western dishes. At the ‘Cook Do’ factory in Thailand, the product is manufactured by blending carefully selected ingredients, which are then cooked according to the recipes by professional Chinese chefs.

Anchana Sripron of the Ajinomoto Corporation in Thailand said the manufacturing of ‘Cook Do’ is done under stringent quality control standards to ensure deliciousness, safety and reliability.

“We utilize our seasoning technology from the raw material selections to selecting the reliable supplier to be as our partner. With the production control and quality control technologies, we can contribute with the unique products to customer with safety,” Sripron said.

Just like in Japan, menu-specific seasonings are rapidly growing in Thailand, due to the shifts in consumer’s lifestyles and high demands for convenience. On the lines of ‘RosDee’, a leading flavor seasoning brand in Thailand, Ajinomoto Thailand has launched ‘RosDee Menu’, a menu-specific seasoning for popular home dishes.

“RosDee Menu’ is designed for Thai people, not only for the authentic Thai taste, but we’d also like to contribute to dietary habit of Thai people,” said Jinta Pongpala of the Ajinomoto Corporation in Thailand.

Meanwhile, Business Matching Conference on Broadcasting Programs was held in Bangkok on April 30.

The government and private sector firms related to broadcasting from Japan and Thailand gathered at the conference for the business cooperation between the two countries in broadcast contents fields.

Shigeki Suzuki from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Japan, said that Japanese Government is planning actively to support international collaboration and cooperation on the broadcast contents field.

“Japanese Government is planning actively to support international collaboration and cooperation on the broadcast contents field by taking initiatives continuously to create business matching opportunities for the broadcasters and the rerated companies in order to boost and expand the mutual understandingbetween Japan and Thailand,” Suzuki said.

“I hope this opportunity develops our mutual understanding to create contents that contributes to our society, and expand collaborations in the wider field of the rerated business such as educations and

logistics,” said Takorn Tantasith, Secretary General of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission from the Kingdom of Thailand.

Japanse Ministry of International Affairs and Communications has been promoting international contents exchange business through “Cool Japan” initiatives. This conference was aimed to create opportunity for the active business exchange between contents producers and buyers from both Japan and Thailand. In response to Japanese Ministry, 20 broadcasters and production companies from Japan have participated, appealing unique programs by each presentation.

From the Thai side, nine organizations from the public and private sectors participated together at the conference. Sanae Takaichi, Japanese Minister for International Affairs and Communications emphasized the significance of the exchange of opinions in the broadcast contents fields.

“I had a conference with Mr. Thares, the Chairman of National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission. We came to agreement that both Japan and Thai government will continue to cooperate each other to provide supports in need to expand the relationship on the field of broadcast contents. I hope this conference creates new business development for international co-production and exchange of programs, by creating deeper relationship and co operations of the broadcast related industry for both countries,” Takaichi said.

The companies from both countries actively promoted their programs at the business matching exchange. (ANI)
