No one is unaware of the popularity and reverence which Hazrat Khaja Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri holds among Muslims rather among all Indians. The sacrifices he made in the way of Allah and for revival of Sunnah have no parallels. A large number of Hyderabadi Muslims leave for Ajmer Shareef every year on the occasion of ‘urs’ but very few people know that the blessed door of Mazar-e-Shareef of Hazrat Khaja Moinuddin Chishti which is called ‘Jannati darwaza’ still exists in Hyderabad.
This ‘Jannati Darwaza’ is present even today at Masjid Phool Bagh. There is a special room in the lawn of the 125 year old mosque inside which the blessed door has been installed. The room had been constructed only for the ‘door’. The Jannati darwaza is very beautiful and spectacular. In return of this door, Huzoor Nizam had sent a door to Ajmer Shareef, made of silver worth 55857 rupees which is located at the southern side of Dargah, famous even today as Buland darwaza or Hyderabadi Nizam Darwaza.
Masjid Phool Bagh had remained uninhabited since 1990 riots but now it has been rehabilitated but there are only few ‘musallis’ which is unfortunate. According to Waqf record the mosque had 11646 sqyd land under it, but sadly non Muslims have occupied thousands of yards of land very little land has left under the mosque.
