Jane Fonda to receive Lifetime Achievement Award at Michael Moore film festival

Washington: Veteran Hollywood actress Jane Fonda is all set to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at Michael Moore’s Traverse City Film Festival.

Moore, the festival’s founder and president, made the announcement on Wednesday, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

“I can think of no other artist who has given more to her country,” he said.
“What an honour for our festival audience to welcome and to be inspired by the work of this American icon. Her voice is as needed today as much as ever.”

The 14th edition of the festival is set to run from July 31 to August 5 in Traverse City, Michigan.

The festival, which will screen nearly 100 movies, will also show three Fonda films – ‘Coming Home,’ about a Vietnam veteran; ‘Julia,’ in which she plays McCarthy blacklist author Lillian Hellman; and the feminist office comedy ‘9 to 5.’
