Mr. K. Jana Reddy, opposition leader of Congress Party wrote a letter to Mr. KCR requesting him to protect Batakumma Kunta near Shivam Road, Bagh Amberpet. He said that Mr. V. Hanumanth Rao, Congress MP of Rajya Sabha has already represented a number of times for the protection of Batakumma Kunta land. Congress Govt. in its tenure of office had taken necessary steps to protect this land but the matter was delayed due to court cases. Since Govt. of Telangana has declared Batakumma as the official festival, it become imperative on the part of the Govt. to protect this land.
