Jana, Shabbir Ali condemns Komatireddy’s remarks

Leaders of Opposition K. Jana Reddy (Assembly) and Mohammed Ali Shabbir (Council) on Sunday condemned the statement of Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkatreddy wherein he publicly criticised TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.

In a media statement, Jana Reddy expressed displeasure at Komatireddy’s statement and said that Nalgonda MLA should have expressed his view in party forum, instead of conveying it through media. He said such statements would only benefit the ruling TRS and cause huge damage to the Congress party.

In a separate statement, Shabbir Ali appealed to the Telangana Congress leaders to restrain from criticising each other in public.

Shabbir Ali said that Congress was a totally democratic party and each and every leader and worker has a right to express his/her views. However, no one is authorised to speak against others in public forums or through media. He said if any leader has an issue with the leadership, then they must raise those issues in party forums than going before the media with their list of allegations.

He requested senior leaders including Komatireddy Venkatreddy, Sarve Satyanarayana and others to stop criticising the leadership through media. They can directly express their grievances before the Congress High Command if they are not happy or satisfied with anyone in the State. By resorting to open criticism, they are causing more damage to the party. “Despite Congress president Sonia Gandhi Ji giving statehood for Telangana, the Congress party has failed to win the last elections largely due to in-fighting. Instead of deteriorating the situation further, all Telangana Congress leaders should adopt “forget and forgive” policy and work unitedly to bring Congress party back into power in 2019 elections,” he said.
