Jana regrets not attending Telugu Conference due to Rahul’s swearing-in at Delhi

Stating that he loves Telugu language a lot, CLP leader K Jana Reddy said that he thought he would meet several Telugu people while attending World Telugu Conferences but was not attending the conferences as he was attending Rahul Gandhi’s oath taking program. Rahul Gandhi was taking charge of AICC Chief at Delhi on Saturday.

Speaking to the media at Assembly Media Hall here on Friday along with MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, Jana Reddy said that he was wishing the organisers to become the conferences a big success. He congratulated vice-president of the nation M Venkaiah Naidu and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who were attending inaugural session. He extended wishes to the delegates of conferences and said that he was expecting that the conferences will enhance the pride of the Telugu and help for the development of the language.

Speaking on Rahul Gandhi, who was going to take the charge of AICC Chief on Saturday, Jana Reddy said that Rahul Gandhi wanted to continue the Nehru family sacrifices. Rahul Gandhi left the chance of becoming Prime Minister of the nation several times. It was not correct to under estimate Rahul Gandhi. On the other hand, Sonia Gandhi put her efforts to sustain the party for the last 19 years. Sonia succeeded in protecting the glory of Nehru family’s name. Sonia Gandhi was the leaders fulfilled the aspirations of Telangana people.

It was not correct to speak that Sonia has given Telangana state as there was no alternative. He said that he was going to attend Sonia Gandhi’s retirement meeting on behalf of Telangana people. “We will play our role in bringing the Congress party to power in centre and state in 2019 elections”, he said.

Speaking on the arrest of senior journalist N Venugopal, who given a boycott call, Jana Reddy said that the government would have invited all to conferences keeping differences aside. It was not correct to arrest someone. He asked Chief Minister to interfere in the issue immediately to release him. The government has to set right its mistakes. Everyone has to strive for the betterment of the language. The government has to invite writers like Andesri.

Ponguleti said it was painful to common Congress activists as Sonia Gandhi was leaving active politics. Sonia Gandhi would extend her valuable suggestions to the party though she was leaving active politics, he said and praised her saying that Sonia did a great sacrifice while sacrificing Prime Minister post three times.
