Creation of Telangana State in 2014 may happen as a miracle, said Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy.
Speaking to the media at CLP office on Thursday along with Aler MLA B Bikshamaiah Goud, Jana Reddy said that he was not distancing from Telangana issue, but only maintaining silence in view the prevailing political situation. “We are maintaining restraint. We will go to Delhi only after a meeting with the Telangana Congress leaders”, he added.
Supporting the demand of Telangana Congress MPs and MLCs to give another chance to Dr K Keshav Rao as Rajya Sabha member, he said that the demand was justified. Affirming that he has no ambition to become chief minister, Jana Reddy said that it was only an imagination of some people.
Asked whether he did not have qualities to become chief minister, he said that having qualifications was different from becoming chief minister. “Anybody can become chief minister. But everyone has own status even though one may not become chief minister”, he said. He pointed out that late NTR and his son Balakrishna played role of Sri Rama, but Balakrishna cannot be compared with late NTR.
The minister said that the ruling party would emerge winner in 2014 elections even though the TDP tries to mar the prospects of the Congress. He said that the Congress will become stronger by 2014 elections. He also that the party would act as a family to protect the tainted ministers taking suggestions from the high command. He said that the Chief Minister and the departments concerned were taking advice from Advocate General and legal experts and discussing the issue with all concerned. The government would clarify doubts by placing the facts before the people.
Jana Reddy said that the Chief Minister was participating in the ongoing by-election campaigning. “As senior leaders, we are attending the Assembly and not able to participate in the campaigning”, he said, adding that the win or lose were common in elections. He said that a miracle may happen and the Congress would emerge winner in the 2014 elections. (NSS)
