Terming the High Court verdict with regard to expelled Congress MLAs —Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and SA Sampath Kumar — as victory of people and a slap on TRS government, CLP leader K Jana Reddy said the verdict was a direction to the India and the 175-page verdict was an eye-opener to Indian politics and leaders.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Jana Reddy congratulated their counsel Jandhyala Ravishankar for revealing justice and facts in the case. “I am expressing my happiness over the verdict on behalf of people”, he said. He alleged that the state government was behaving undemocratically and was not giving permissions to Prof. M Kodandaram party for conducting public meeting. The state government was lifted the Dharna Chowk, which was a place to express the people their grievances. The state government passed Panchayatraj Act in the Assembly by suspending the main opposition party, he said and expressed doubts that there must be several loop holes in the act. The people would teach a fitting lesson if the government behaved in the same manner, he said.
The issue was taken place during the Governor’s speech and there was no chance to the Speaker to consider it and there was no relation with the Assembly. “As per rules, the Speaker has to ask an explanation from the members but it couldn’t happen. We will give full information after getting judgement copy on Wednesday. Removing security personnel of MLAs was nothing but vengeful”, he said.
Expelled MLA SA Sampath said that the verdict made him to believe that judicial system and virtue will protect him. The government conspicuously expelled from the House for saying that the government seized the democracy in ‘Dorala Gadi’. Thanking the people, intellectual and students, Sampath said that they extended their cooperation in winning the case in the Court. “The people of my constituency offered prayers in Churches, Mosques and Temples for the sake of me. I will continue to speak on behalf of weaker sections. I think the ruling party thought that I will down my tongue with the expulsion”, he said.
Former Union Minister Sarvey Sathyanarayana alleged that KCR was ruling the state similar to Hitler. The government thought that they will send Congress party MLAs to outside by filing falsehood cases. Chief Minister’s games will not continue in future as there was judicial system in the nation. The verdict was a slap on the Chief Minister, he said. (NSS)
