Jana differs with ponnala, others to take on KCR Govt

Once again differences cropped up among the senior Congress leaders of Telangana here.
When the leaders joined to celebrate Mahatma Gandhi Jayanthi Celebrations at the party headquarters here on Thursday, top leaders of the party expressed different views on adopting a strategy on the TRS Government. The differences came to the fore when the leaders held a meeting after paying tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on the premises.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah said all the leaders of the party have to take on the Government and criticized it for its failure to keep poll promises. “From time to time, we have to pull up the government for allocation of only 25 per cent of crop loan waiver, power problem, pensions and other top issues”. To this, Leader of the Opposition K Jana Reddy opposed him. Jana Reddy said they cannot do so as the TRS Government is just four months old. The government will take some more time to implement the schemes to keep the promises, he said.

However, Lakshmaiah opposed him saying that being the main Opposition, the Congress should not spare the ruling party and begin protests at all levels. Meanwhile, other senior leaders Shabbir Ali and Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy said the party has to take on the Government for its inefficiency to implement schemes. When Lakshmaiah joined the chorus to corner the TRS government, Jana Reddy opposed them, it is learnt. He had also reportedly stated that the government seems to be taking more time to implement any schemes. “Keeping this in view, we have to maintain restraint”, Jana Reddy suggested. But other three leaders differed with him. They also proposed that a team of leaders to reach out to console a farmer’s family, who committed suicide in Adilabad on Wednesday. (NSS)
