Hyderabad: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader K Jana Reddy has demanded that the State government, which closed the government orders website, reopen it immediately.
Continuing speech on budget on Thursday in the Assembly, Jana Reddy said the people were facing troubles as they were not in a position to find out the GOs as the government closed the website. He asked the State government to complete the projects worth Rs 30,000 crore as they help provide water to 24 lakh acres instead of taking up big projects. He said the State government was giving priority in announcing the projects, but not allocating budget for them. The government spent 60% of funds in 2014-15 budget, he said and alleged that the government showed huge allocations in the budget but there was no revenue for the same. The government showed 34 percent to SCs, 42 percent to STs, 52 percent to BCs and 30 percent to Minorities in its allocations. The government allocated Rs.1100 crores but spent only Rs 300 crore.
The CLP leader asked the government to complete all the pending projects and provide water in the coming four to five months. The government has to give water to 47 lakh acres as part of its Irrigation policy, but the government was telling that it was providing water to eight lakh acres. He continued his speech sarcastically even on Thursday as on Wednesday. He said he wanted to speak elaborately on every issue but due to time constraint he was confining to single examples to every issue. Referring to rural development, Jana said the Minister concerned was not in the House and hence he will speak on it later.
Intervening, Finance Minister Etela Rajender said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has asked the treasury benches not to disturb the speech of the Leader of the Opposition and directed the Ministers to note down the points raised by him. “Jana Reddy garu…We are listening your speech keenly”, Etela said. Jana Reddy continued his speech as usual and asked the government to convene an all-party meeting on Pranahitha project and conduct a study with the national-level organizations on Pranahitha project.
