Jana condemns KCR for calling T-Bandh

Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy has condemned the Telangana Rashtra Samithi for suspecting the intentions of the Centre in resolving the Telangana issue.

Talking to reporters at the Exhibition Society’s Office here on Saturday, Jana Reddy described the TRS call for Bandh as a hasty decision and said that the Centre should be given time to finalise the roadmap for Telangana.

He said that the people of the region have been waiting for the decision on statehood for the last several decades and therefore, the TRS should have observed restrain for another one month. It was improper on the part of TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao to call for Bandh immediately after the All-Party meeting on Friday.

Jana Reddy said that he Centre has realised the sensitivity and urgency of Telangana demand and it has already initiated the process to resolve the issue. He said Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has also served as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh and he would understand the situation in the State in view of demand for separate Telangana. He hoped that the Centre would announce its decision on Telangana within a month.
