An advisory meeting of Jamiat Ulama was held on Saturday, December 1, at Jamiat office. The meeting was presided over by Alhaj Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed president Jamiat Ulama Andhra Pradesh. As per the decision of working committee the meeting proposed to conduct 3 big public conventions in the state. The first public convention will be held on December 27 at Guntur in which scholars and people of 12 districts will participate. The second convention will be held in Chittoor in the last week of January 2013, while the third convention will be held in Nizamabad in the end of February 2013.
The conventions will raise voice on the following issues: need for Muslim reservation, mobilizing public opinion against the conspiracies to defame Islam and Muslims in the name of terrorism, passing of Anti-Communal Violence Bill and need for eliminate communalism, compensation to the families of victims of violence, release of innocent youth put behind the bars, etc.
