New Delhi: A special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court here on Monday acquitted all five accused including Aseemanand in the 2007 Makkah Masjid bomb blast case. Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra is mulling over challenging the verdict in the High Court.
A general body meeting of Jamiat Ulama I Hind will be held on April 19, under the chairmanship of President Jamiat i Ulama Maulana Syed Arshad Madani. According to reliable sources on the direction of Jamiat Ulama i Hind, Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra legal cell has decided that if the kins of victims of Makkah Masjid blast want to file a petition in the High Court, Jamiat Ulama is ready to help them.
It must be recalled that the powerful explosion had killed nine people and injured more than 50 during the Friday prayers near the iconic Charminar NIA had booked charge sheet against 8 people, but the special court acquitted 5 including Aseemanand. The court held that none of the charges framed against the accused was proved.
In the meeting of Jamiat Ulama, the issue of arrest of innocents will also be raised.
