Jamiat Ulama lends a helping hand to Kanpur flood victims

Kanpur: Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Kanpur began relief work for flood-affected people in Kanpur. After covering Gujjaini, Bara, Kalyanpur, Tikra and Shivli the relief team reached Akhlaq Nagar and distributed relief items.

Maulana Usama said several villages were inundated as the water level of River Ganga in the Kanpur region rose following incessant rains in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Hundreds of poor people were starved and displaced.

A delegation of Jamiat Ulama Kanpur visited flooded affected areas and distributed relief. The relief kits comprised of flour, rice, pulses, oil, sugar, salt, tea leaves, toffees, chips and biscuits for children and other necessary items.
