Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind takes up relief work for riot hit areas of Assam

Large scale measures are being taken up by Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind for relief fund and rehabilitation of riot-hit Muslim families of Assam. General Secretary State Jamiat Ulama Mr. Hafiz Peer Khaleeq Ahmed Sabir in a statement revealed that the poor Muslims of Assam were already confronting with the rain havoc and were facing a lot of hardship, the sudden communal violence added to their woes and nearly 50 people were killed during ethnic violence. The riots left scores of people seriously injured and lakhs of them homeless. 4 lakh people remain high and dry in relief camps and are forced to live a life as that of refugees.

The only crime of the Muslim families is that they are ‘believers’ and they had to pay a high price for their faith.
