Jamiat Ulama delegation meets Andhra Pradesh CM

A delegation of Andhra Pradesh unit of Jamiat Ulama today met Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and presented a memorandum of demands for the uplift of the of Muslims in the state. The delegation, comprising all district Presidents of the organisation, was led by Jamiat Ulama Andhra Pradesh chief Maulana Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed, who is also an MLC. During discussion with the Chief Minister, Ahmed raised issues like the Centre’s 4.5 per cent sub-quota for minorities under the OBC reservation in Government jobs and educational institutes, according to a Jamiat release here. The sub-quota, announced late last year, has been set aside by the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
