Hyderabad February 5: For Akber Pasha and Mohammed Imtiyaz, the last three days have been quite busy.
They have been explaining to visitors at the Science and Educational Expo which has been organized by their school, the Jamia Darul-Huda the intricacies of transformation of Energy, as depicted by the model they have created.
Ninth standard students, both of them have appreciated by the school management and the visitors alike about the simplicity and accurateness of the model.
This for them has been a chance to showcase their aptitude for scientific learning.
For the Darul-Huda management, the success of expo has been a crowning glory in their endeavour to boost scientific learning among the students, and impart scientific knowledge among the visitors, most of whom consist of the parents.
More than 150 students have built models, relating to Islamic history, Science, Medical, Engineering and other subjects included in their syllabi.
Below each model are detailed inscriptions related to them and explanations. The students are also on hand to further clarify any doubts related to the models put up.
Director of the Jamia Darul- Huda Abdul Hakeem said that the objective of the expo was to promote and encourage students to develop an interest towards science and infuse scientific thinking among them.
Mr Abdul Hakeem said that he wished other educational societies would take note of the success of the Darul-Huda and organize such expos to showcase their own students’ talents and to inspire and boost their scientific temperament.
The most beautiful and interesting model, which was drawing everyone’s attention was the Hyderabad International Airport, Science Lab, Global Warming models, Sea Port, Electricity generating, among more than 100 other models which are on display.
Akber Pasha and Mohammed Imtiyaz, bubbling with energy and excitement said that their model “Transforming of Energy” was also among the most appreciated. They said, “We are very happy as this expo has given us a chance to show our skills. It (the model) took us three days to complete. It is feeling of pride for us.’’
Visitors, particularly from other educational institutions, who have thronged to the expo expressed their happiness at the visit.
They said that such expos showcase encourages the students to take an even more keen interest in their subject at schools and will encourage them to become scientists or help them to choose other careers.
“It is great to see such kind of models displayed by the students. These kind of activities will certainly help them to achieve something in their future lives,” said one of the visitors, Anwar Khan.
Mr Abdul Hakeem said that the management of the Darul-Huda intends to continue organizing such scientific expos in the future
