Mr. Abdul Ghani Muzahari, President of Sunni Jameeatul Ulema and all the members of its executive strongly condemned one-sided action taken by the police for the erection of roof of Bhagya Lakshmi temple. Court has already decided that the temple is illegal. Giving permission for the extension of the temple amounts to pleasing a section and arousing the sentiments of the other section of society. It will spread religious hatred. Charminar is famous as the symbol of peace, love and fraternity, which is equally popular among all the people. Since it is under the supervision of Archaeological Survey of India, all construction activities are prohibited around it. Police barricaded all the roads and prevented people to come to Charminar. In this way, it encouraged the illegal work of the temple. It has thus performed the act of spreading further hatred in the already worst affected atmosphere of the city. Taking advantage of this opportunity. Govt. should have shifted the temple to other safer place.
