New Delhi, April 07: A minority organisation, Jamaat-e- Ulema-e-Hind, on Wednesday merged with the BJP in the presence of party president Nitin Gadkari and alleged that Muslims in the country were disillusioned with the false promises and policies of the Congress party.
Members of the Delhi-based group joined BJP at the party headquarters here and Gadkari welcomed them to his party-fold.
In a statement, Jamaat-e-Ulema-e-Hind said it had decided to merge with the BJP as it was disappointed with the Congress which had only used the minority as a votebank and exploited them politically.
“Congress has given this country only scams and communal riots which has forced the people to look for a change of government,” the statement said.
“Jamaat-e-Ulema-e-Hind has decided to join BJP on the advice of its members across the country and in view of the prevailing conditions in the country and the false promises of secular parties,” the organisation added.
