Jamaat-e-Islami Hind campaign to promote education

Hyderabad, June 12: The State Chapter of Jamaate- Islami Hind and Student Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) have decided to launch a massive State-wide campaign from June 11 to June 20 for educational awakening and developmental awareness among the people, particularly the Muslim community, said JIH State secretary for Education MA Raqueeb Lathweefi.

SIO State Secretary Zainudhhin Pasha, JIH State Secretary Azarudhin, JIH Assistant Secretary Educational department Malik Dawood, SIO PR Secretary Mohammed Mujahid were also present at the press conference.

“We found that people are reluctant to send their children to schools due to financial constrains.

Collective effort is required to tackle such issues and the social backwardness among the poor,” Lathweefi added.

Organisations including JIH’s NGOs, All India Ideal Teachers Association (AIITA), Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO), Girls Islamic Organization (GIO), Movement for Peace and Justice (MPJ), Ideal Youth Movement (IYM) are going to be part of the campaign.

JIH seeks to improve the educational status of Muslims and other communities.

The campaign includes doorto- door survey, public meeting, group discussions, rallies, meeting with teachers and educational institutions and parents.

The campaign will also consist of educational guidance camps in slum areas, career guidance, counselling and Friday sermons.

JIH State secretary Janab Azarudhin says, “Jamaat is hopeful that during this campaign throughout the State, thousands of parents will be addressed.” He also assured that many teachers will participate and huge amount of money will be disbursed as part of the educational fund. “About 15,000 never enrolled or school drop outs will be admitted to the schools,” he added.

The same campaign was conducted last year, in which, about 13,000 students were enrolled into schools.
