JAM supports Telangana state

Ranchi, January 06: Extending support to the demand for a separate Telangana, Jharkhand Andolankari Morcha (JAM) today said creation of the state would be in the interest of the people of that region.

“The Centre should think constructively to bring about a solution and give statehood to Telangana, a demand which was there for decades as the people there were being neglected,” JAM’s Chief Convener Vinod Bhagat said at the workshop “How much similarity is there between Jharkhand and Telangana.”

An early decision on the issue would prevent it from snowballing into a big one, he said.

Bhagat, who was one of the keymen in the struggle for Jharkhand statehood, said when the state was formed there were some resentment against it.
