Jaitley’s meeting with his Chinese counterpart stands as per schedule: Finance Ministry

New Delhi : With a certain section of the media reporting about the cancellation of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart Lou Jiwei in Beijing, the Finance Ministry on Thursday said the reports are incorrect as the meeting stands as per schedule on June 27

“It is incorrect because the Finance Minister’s meeting with his Chinese counterpart Lou Jiwei stands as per schedule on June 27,” said a statement issued by D.S. Malik, Addl. DG (M&C), Finance.

“Only Shaktikanta Das, Secretary, DEA’s level Indo-China Financial Dialogue has been postponed as he has deferred his visit to China to deal with BREXIT related issues back at home,” he added.

He said the Finance Minister is on a five-day official visit to China to participate in a two-day AIIB Board of Governors’ meeting on June 25-26 during which he will hold meetings with Chinese investors and bankers among others. (ANI)
