New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday filed civil defamation suit in Delhi High Court against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP leaders, amid a raging row over irregularities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) and allegations of corruptions against him by the Delhi Government.
Jaitley has filed the defamation suit of Rs 10 crore against AAP leaders.
The Delhi Government had yesterday decided to constitute a commission of enquiry to probe the alleged corruption in the DDCA.
Kejriwal had written a letter to senior advocate Gopal Subramaniam to head the commission.
Finance Minister Jaitley has been accused of corruption by the Delhi Government and former players including Kirti Azad and Bishan Singh Bedi during his tenure as president of DDCA till 2013.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress Party has demanded for the resignation of the Finance Minister from the union cabinet to enable an independent probe against him.
Hitting back, Jaitley had said in his blog that the AAP convener is trying to divert attention and protecting his corrupt Principal Secretary by linking it to the Delhi Cricket body.
