Jaitley condoles demise of Kiran Bedi’s husband

New Delhi : Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has condoled the demise of former IPS officer Kiran Bedi’s husband Brij Bedi and extended his condolences to the bereaved family.
“Condolences on sad and untimely demise of Shri Brij Bedi, husband of Smt Kiran Bedi. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family,” he tweeted.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said Brij Bedi will be remembered for his work.

“Condolences to @thekiranbedi. Sorry to learn about the sad news.Brij Bedi will be remembered for his work. RIP,” he tweeted.

BJP leader Maheish Girri also condoled the demise of Brij Bedi, who breathed his last at a hospital in Gurgaon yesterday after a brief illness.

Brij Bedi was admitted at Medanta – The Medicity hospital earlier on Thursday following kidney and breathing problems.

His condition deteriorated and he was shifted to the ICU. Doctors said he died around 11 a.m. today.

Brij Bedi, who was a social activist, ran a school in Amritsar for underprivileged children.

After his death, Kiran Bedi posted a series of tweets paying tribute to her husband.

“City of Amritsar lost a man who loved his city the most. One who gave all his life to the cause of the needy. We will carry (forward) his service,” she tweeted.

“He loved his city, Amritsar. Worked passionately to make it better. He educated children of fathers lost to drugs.

“He was very concerned about the problem of drug addiction in Punjab. He was a courageous voice for several causes,” she said in a series of tweets. (ANI)
