Seats allocation in Telangana Congress has taken a new turn with its leaders vying for their own candidates to be in fray.
Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy and former minister D K Aruna are said to be at loggerheads on allocation of MLA and MP seats. As they are vouching for their own candidates, the issue reached to Delhi and the high command bosses are said to be busy focusing on the contention. While Jaipal Reddy suggested a few names for Kodangal, Narayanapet, Devarakadra and Mahbunanagar Assembly constituencies, Aruna is opposing them as they do not belong to the Congress party. It is said the Congress has decided to rope in Jaipal Reddy from Mahbunagar Parliamentary constituency instead of his Chevella constituency.
Another problem being surfaced is that Aruna is also opposing Jaipal Reddy’s nomination for Mahbubanagar MP seat. She is understood to have appealed to the high command to give this seat to a BC leader instead. It is to be seen how the high command will resolve this contentious issue.
