Senior Congress leader S Jaipal Reddy has demanded that both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments order judicial inquiries into the encounters took place on April 7.
In a pressnote released on Thursday, Jaipal Reddy stated that the “extra-judicial killings” in Warangal district in Telangana State and Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh raised many questions about the veracity of the governments’ versions. The governments have not been able to clear the cloud of suspicions in both the incidents. There is a clear case for judicial inquiry which must be ordered. April 7, 2015 will go down in the history of two Telugu States as a “black day”.
The unjustified nature of killings is evident from the guilty silence of both the Chief Ministers. However, those who believe in the sanctity of human life should always protest and struggle against such violations of human rights, he opined. (NSS)
