The dust of multi-crore scam in Andhra Pradesh Minority Corporation had not yet settled when officer of another department attached to Minority Welfare Department was caught red-handed by ACB officials, which traumatized the people especially Muslims.
It must be recalled that a Waqf Board enquiry officer Mir Shujauddin, resident of Kala pathar, was trapped in ACB net when he took Rs 10,000 bribe from a complainant at a hotel in Nampally. The officer had demanded and accepted the bribe from the complainant to submit the inquiry report in the latter’s favour allowing him to continue as the ‘mutavali’ and allot a major portion of land belonging to a mosque in his favour.
It is a bitter truth that today not a single department is devoid of corruption. One cannot manage to pass without paying bribe at every step. Either it is a matter of obtaining birth certificate or death certificate, even while passing by the road you’ll have to pay ‘mamool’ to the traffic police. Corruption is a chain which has tied the whole society from top to bottom.
It is the duty of every citizen to stand up for eliminating this social evil and play their role to put the true culprits behind bars. They may take the help of Anti Corruption Bureau as done by Mr. Syed Lal who tipped off the ACB officials who in turn trapped the corrupt official.
