Jaguar Land Rover global sales up 30% in April

Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Monday reported 30 percent increase in global sales for April at 37,171 units.

The company’s sales were up 72 percent in the China region, 19 percent in North America, 25 percent in Asia Pacific and 27 percent in Europe, JLR said in a statement.

“April sales continue the positive momentum we saw in the first quarter of 2014. Alongside the F-Type, all three Range Rover models delivered record April sales performances reflecting the global appeal of our strongest ever vehicle line up,” JLR Group Sales Operations Director Andy Goss said.

Jaguar sold 5,511 vehicles April, up 17 percent year-on -year, with a strong performance from the F-Type, the company said.

Land Rover sold 31,660 vehicles, an increase of 33 percent, on the back of robust sales from all three Range Rover models, it added.

In April, the Range Rover Sport delivered its best sales performance since 2006, the company said.

Land Rover saw increases for the month in all regions, including 72 percent rise in sales in China Region and 31 percent sales increase in Asia Pacific.

In 2013, JLR had sold 4,25,006 vehicles worldwide. While Jaguar accounted for 76,668 vehicles, Land Rover sold 348,338 units during the year.PTI
