Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today paid rich tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram on the occasion of his 109th birth anniversary.
In an official communiqué, the Chief Minister noted that Jagjivan Ram was a freedom fighter and relentlessy fought for the cause of the poor and uplift of downtrodden sections. A stalwart of India, Jagjivan Ram tried his best to transform the nation to suit to the current social conditions, he said. Recalling his services, KCR stated Jagjivan Ram was a social reformer fought for equality in the society and remained a people’s leader. The nation will always cherish the freedom fighter, KCR added. A great human being, Jagjivan Ram stood in the forefront to bring deprived classes to the mainstream and help them to lead better lives, KCR recalled. (NSS)
