Jagga Reddy seeks Kondandaram, Ponnam’s apologies

Government Whip Toorpu Jaya Prakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy on Tuesday slammed pro-Telangana leaders for criticising Rajya Sabha MP Renuka Chowdhary.

Talking to reporters at the State Secretariat, Jagga Reddy condemned Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kondandaram for describing Renuka Chowdhary as a non-local. He said those not born in Telangana, too have a right to live in the region and Kondandaram was not empowered to question anyone’s credentials.

Jagga Reddy demanded that Kondandaram apologise to Renuka Chowdhary for his remarks. He also sought an apology from Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar for criticising Renuka. He said Ponnam became a leader as his luck favoured him in 2009 elections. However, he said Ponnam does not enjoy the stature to criticise a senior leader like Renuka Chowdhary.
