According to the information, the program to woo the voters with distribution of electronic goods was organized in the Gunrock Enclave Function Hall in Secunderabad Cantonment area in the name of birthday party of one Nekkanti Swaroopa, a Mahila leader of Sangareddy. The Congress activists brought several voters of Sangareddy Assembly constituency in many vehicles and distributed cell phones, mixis, cookers, micro ovens, DVD players, Gas stoves and other kitchen ware to woo the voters.
However, on a tip-off, Assistant Returning officer Lakshmi, accompanied by Static Surveillance Team members, rushed to the spot. However, the police personnel videographed the entire episode and seized incriminating materials like cookers, mixis, gas stoves, micro ovens, DVD players, 80 cell phones and eight full bottles of liquor. They also seized two cars from the spot. Investigation revealed that the function hall belongs to an MLA of Ranga Reddy district.
