Government Whip in the Assembly and Sangareddy MLA Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy aka Jagga Reddy has alleged that Union Petroleum Minister S. Jaipal Reddy and Telangana senior Congress leader Dr K Keshav Rao have been hatching a conspiracy along with TRS Chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao to dethrone N. Kiran Kumar Reddy from the chief minister post.
Speaking to the media at the CLP Office here on Sunday, Jagga Reddy said that Jaipal Reddy was eyeing the chief minister’s post. Kiran Kumar Reddy was working for 18 hours a day for welfare of the people, he added.
Alleging that Jaipal Reddy was playing “double game’ sitting in New Delhi and never spoke about Telangana issue even being a Union minister, Jagga Reddy advised the former not to interfere in the State politics. He also demanded Jaipal Reddy release a white paper on what he had done for the State. He said that Kiran Kumar Reddy was working under the guidance of AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi and it was not good for Jaipal Reddy to try to replace the Chief Minister.
Asking how the separate Telangana State would come into being if a leader from the Telangana region became Chief Minister of the State, Jagga Reddy said that Jaipal Reddy targeted the Chief Minister leaving the issues of strengthening the Party and getting funds from the Centre to the State.
Jagga Reddy said that those, who wanted to become Chief Minister after 2014 elections, have to ensure victory of the Congress. He also lashed out at Keshav Rao for saying that separate Telangana State was possible only if the Telangana MLAs created an impression that they would dethrone the Kiran Kumar Reddy government if the Centre failed to announce a statement on Telangana statehood. He also reminded that Keshava Rao never spoke a word about Telangana when he was PCC chief. Stating that he would lodge a complaint with the high command against Keshav Rao, he urged the party high command to expel Keshav Rao from the party. (NSS)
