Jagan’s show of strength; dares Congress

New Delhi, January 11: Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who has revolted against the Congress in Andhra Pradesh, today demonstrated his clout in the state party unit by displaying two MPs and 23 MLAs on his side during a one-day protest fast here on a water dispute issue.

Jagan, son of late state Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, who quit Congress last November and has plans to float a new party, also utilised the occasion to dare his former party to act against the Congress MPs and MLAs who are with him at the risk of losing its government in Andhra Pradesh.

“Currently I am doing a favour to the Congress party because if my MLAs resign, the government there will fall.

Jagan told reporters at his fast site “Had I wanted, I could have done it a long time ago. I am a gentleman.
