Film actor Giribabu has said that the YSR Congress of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was a super hit and TDP and Congress were flops.
Addressing a meeting of cine, TV artistes and technicians called by the cultural wing of the YSRCP in the party’s central office here on Sunday, Giribabu said several film stars were queuing up for admission into the party. Giribabu has dismissed the allegations being leveled against Jaganmohan Reddy. He said that Congress and TDP leaders were touring the length and breadth of the state with the sole purpose of defaming Jagan. He asserted that people was not believing their vicious campaigning. He told the artistes to go to the people and explain how the schemes introduced by the late Dr Rajasekhara Reddy were being diluted by the present leadership. Giri Babu has said Jagan was a matchless leader.
Speaking on the occasion, another film actor Vijaya Chandar has alleged that Jagan was sent to jail only to contain his popularity. Stating that he would not be able to bear the sight of seeing Jagan in jail, Vijaya Chandar has said this was the reason why he had not visited the Chanchalguda jail.
MLC Jupudi Prabhakara Rao said that only Jagan could fill the void created by the death of Rajasekhara Reddy. Only he would be able to take forward the schemes launched by Dr. Reddy, he added. He said he was able to state this as he had observed Jagan’s commitment to the poor when he accompanied him during his Odarpu Yatra. He said Jagan spent more than two years amidst the people after his father’s death and observed the problems of the poor and the have-nots from close quarters. He thanked the TV and Cine artistes and technicians for supporting Jagan. Vangapandu Usha has organized the program.
