The Principal Special CBI Court at Nampally today extended the judicial remand of YSR Congress Party President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy till September 25 in the disproportionate assets case against him. Judge U Durga Prasada Rao passed the order after conducting the proceedings through video conference from Chanchalguda Jail where the Kadapa MP was lodged. The order came after the CBI filed a memo in the court stating that investigation in the case was still in progress. The Judge has also extended the remand through video conference of Former Karnataka BJP Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, who is presently in the jail at Bangalore in the illegal mining case and Former Andhra pradesh Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana, who is in Chanchalguda Jail in the disproportionate asssets case till September 25. The CBI Judge has also extended the judicial remand till September 25 of Mr Nimmagadda Prasad and Bureaucrat Brahamananda Reddy.
The Judge also extended till September 25 the remand of Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) case accused B V Srinivas Reddy, V D Rajagopal, IAS officer Srilakshmi and Vijay Raghav. The court also extended the remand of Sunil Reddy and B P Acharya till September 25 in the Emaar Case. Mr Jagan was arrested by the CBI on May 27 saying investments to the tune of Rs 850 crore were pumped into his companies by firms and individuals as quid pro quo for lands allotted to them during his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s tenure as Chief Minister.
