Jagan’s bail petition hearing adjourned to May 31

The CBI court at Nampally on Wednesday adjourned the hearing to May 31 on the bail petition of YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was arrested by the CBI in connection with disproportionate assets case.

In the bail petition, Jagan’s counsel stated that he has to campaign in the ensuing by-elections as the YSR Congress party president and requested that the court grant him bail. He also stated that his arrest was illegal and appealed to court to grant bail to enable him to campaign for his party candidates.

After hearing the arguments of Jagan’s counsel, the CBI court posted next hearing on May 31 at 2.15 pm.

In another petition, Jagan Mohan Reddy appealed to the court to provide him special category facilities at Chanchalguda Jail considering his status.

Meanwhile, the CBI counsel on Wednesday filed a petition in the High court seeking custody of Jagan Mohan Reddy. After hearing the arguments of counsel, the court posted the petition for next hearing on May 31.

In the petition, the CBI has sought 14 days custody of Jagan Mohan Reddy, which was rejected by the CBI special court. (INN)
