Asked whether the latest developments would help YSRCP Chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Botcha replied in negative. He said that even Jagan has to face the CBI inquiry tomorrow. Responding to another question, Botcha said that Jagan will not become chief minister if the latter goes to jail. People would never accept him as chief minister, he said.
Refuting the TDP allegation that the CBI has made a BC minister as a scapegoat, Botcha said that it was not correct to come to such a conclusion and also it was not correct to say that the CBI has targeted a particular class leader. A person, who committed a mistake, has to be punished irrespective of his class, he opined.
Stating that protests were common when a minister was detained by the CBI, he said that he didn’t try to make Mopidevi to submit his resignation. He said that TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu didn’t gain anything with the ongoing developments. Responding to Jagan’s statement that the CBI will arrest him within three days, the PCC Chief said that Jagan’s network was a big one and the Congress party didn’t have such huge network. Jagan also has talent to turn every development in his favor.
Botcha said that he would talk to the media about Mopidevi’s arrest after knowing more information. He said that he was pained with the arrest of Mopidevi naturally.
AICC representative K B Krishna Murthy said that law was taking its own course. He said that he will not respond much on Mopidevi’s arrest as the issue was in the purview of court. (NSS)
