Hyderabad, July 09: The Andhra Pradesh Congress today served a notice to a supporter of Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for alleged insulting remarks against Chief Minister K Rosaiah, but the Jagan camp warned of protests if action is taken against him.
The disciplinary panel of the APCC served the notice on Ambati Rambabu, asking him to appear before it on July 12.
The committee’s decision came following a complaint by APCC office-bearers to party General Secretary Veerappa Moily, in-charge of Congress affairs in Andhra Pradesh that Rambabu had lashed out at the chief minister for allegedly trying to block ‘Odarpu Yatra’ by Jagan, son of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
They claimed Rambabu had questioned whether Rosaiah had the high command’s permission for celebrating his 78th birthday last week.
