The TDP has said that YSR Congress chief Y S Jagammohan Reddy, who was facing disproportionate assets charges should accept narco-analysis test as sought by the CBI if he was really innocent.
Talking to the media here on Thursday, party leaders Varla Ramaiah and Thera Chinnapu Reddy said that narco-analysis test was generally used as the last resort to get facts from hardened criminals
and CBI has sought this test on Jagan as he was not divulging any information on his illegal deals. They said that if he was really innocent and wanted to prove it to the people, he should accept the test and come out clean as Sita has plunged into fire and came out unblemished to become a Goddess venerated by every one.
They said that Supreme Court had objected to the use of this test only to those with ill-health and aged and this exemption would not apply to Jagan. They said that there was no reason why Jagan, a young man, who has undertaken a marathon Odarpu Yatra, was shivering to undergo narco tests. “Is it because he is afraid that the allegations of corruption leveled against him by the TDP would be proved before the people?” they questioned.
They said every one should take note that Jagan was not an ordinary criminal, but some one who struck at the very economy of Andhra Pradesh. They appealed to the court to make Jagan undergo narco test as he had knocked off one lakh crores of rupees that would otherwise have been spent on the welfare of the people. They said Jagan was indulging in a mind game and was deliberately telling lies. They said that they were urging the court to make him undergo narco analysis tests on behalf of all the people, so that he would not escape from the law, by spending crores of rupees on lawyers.
Stating that Vijay Sai Reddy has given him a notice for calling him a criminal, Varla Ramaiah said that he would call him a criminal hundred times a day as he was named Accused No. 2 in the Jagan assets case in the FIR of the CBI. He said that he had not come across a character like Vijay Sai Reddy in all his life. He questioned how Vijay Sai has issued him a notice shamelessly though he was named Accused No. 2 in all the three charge-sheets of the CBI. (NSS)
