Taking serious exception to YSRCP president’s Khammam tour, Congress leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Redd today alleged that Jaganmohan Reddy set a target to mint money by selling tickets for general elections.
Talking to mediapersons at Congress Legislature Party office here, Ponguleti urged Election Commission to conduct an inquiry into violation of code by YSRCP. He accused Jagan of swindling money by settling a deal to sell tickets for forthcoming general elections. Jagan facing a Supreme Court case on disproportionate assets case and making tours are similar to that of cinema shootings, he alleged.
Reddy said as there were no takers from the Telangana region, Jagan had to hire people and party activists from East Godavari and Krishna district for Khammam tour. Jagan, who said he would not oppose Telangana, had tried his best to prevent bifurcation process in Parliament and in Assembly, he alleged. Since Jagan opposed division of the State, he has no right to tour the Telangana region when bifurcation process speeded up, Ponguleti maintained. (NSS)
