Hyderabad: The first list of YSR Congress party candidates for the Lok Sabha and Assembly seats will be announced on March 16 at 10.26 am. The candidates’ list was supposed to be released on Wednesday, but with the new additions into the party, YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is occupied.
Jagan will be paying tribute to late YS Rajasekhara Reddy and announce the list of candidates and subsequently begin the election campaign with the Bus Yatra. Jagan reportedly decided to announce candidates for over half of the 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats in the first list. The election campaign will kick-start on March 16. On Tuesday, YS Jagan held discussions with senior party leaders, including V Vijayasai Reddy, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Thalasila Raghuram regarding his election campaign and also the selection of candidates.
The proposal was made to launch the campaign from Penugonda, Gajuwaka or Gurazala. The campaign schedule will be finalized in the meeting on Saturday. Several leaders including Nellore district Venkatagiri Municipal Chairperson Dontu Sarada and Palakollu Former MLA Dr Babji joined the party on Tuesday. Speaking to the media on the occasion, they said that in the present situation, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy becoming the Chief Minister is a much-needed requirement of the State.
