Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday accused YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy of launching malicious campaign against the Congress party with an eye on the Chief Minister’s Post.
Addressing an election meeting here, the Chief Minister criticized Jagan for leveling baseless charges against Congress party and himself to get political mileage in the by-elections. In order to achieve the Chief Minister’s posts, he said that Jagan Mohan Reddy was ready to align with the Telugu Desam, Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Bharatiya Janata Party. He said Jagan supported the No Confidence Motion only to ensure fall of his government.
Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that Jagan was having a ‘secret pact’ with Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Reddy to come to power in the Seemandhra region.
Stating that Jagan was not eligibile for the Chief Minister’s post, he said that the high command has advised him to wait for a few days after the death of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and offered to give Central Minister’s post. However, Jagan did not oblige and quit the party, he said. Alleging that Sakshi newspaper and TV channel have been carrying baseless reports, he said that the people of State would not be influenced with such political gimmicks. He called upon the people to exercise their franchise judiciously after seeing the performance of government and implementation of schemes and programmes in a transparent manner.
The Chief Minister accused former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy of winning last elections with fake votes of 48,000.
Kiran Kumar Reddy also slammed Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu for focusing his attention on Hi-tech city while neglecting the welfare of farmers. However, he said that Naidu was now shedding crocodile tears on farmers woes to gain their sympathy.
Congress aspirant Magunta Parvathamma, MP Magunta Srinivasula Reddy, Minister for Municipal Administration M Mahidhar Reddy, Rajya Sabha member J D Seelam, and others also took part in the election meeting. (INN)
