Hyderabad, December 07: Dissident Congress MP Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday addressed his first rally at Kadapa district after quitting Congress as well as Lok Sabha Membership.
Addressing a public rally in his constituency, Jagan announced to launch a new political party within 45 days. The former Congress MP also told his supporters in his home town Pulivendula that the 2014 assembly elections in the state would be his “finals”.
“I will be launching a new political party in 45 days… Lakhs and lakhs of people still adore my father late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and appreciate the enormous work done by him,” 37-year-old Jagan said.
Jagan Mohan Reddy and his mother YS Vijaylakshmi resigned from the primary membership of the Congress Party and constituencies as well.
In a five-page resignation letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Jagan accused party leaders of causing rift in the family.
Jagan had also accused Congress Party of hijacking his father late YSR Rajshekhara Reddy’s legacy in the state.
It is learnt that Jagan will launch YSR Congress as a new regional political outfit in the state.
