Vijayawada, December 13: Former Congress MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy continued his tour of the cyclone-affected villages in Krishna district for the second day today interacting with farmers who have suffered heavy losses.
Jagan’s ostensibly non-political tour has turned into a virtual show of strength ahead of his planned launch of a new political party. The 37-year-old son of late Chief Minister Y S R Reddy quit Congress late last month.
On a visit to Kottamajeru village under Machilipatnam Assembly constituency, Jagan was accompanied by Congress MLA P Venkataramaih, three ex-legislators and local leaders.
Yesterday, the first day of Jagan’s tour to the district, Venkataramaih had announced support to the former Kadap MP, but clarified that he was not resigning from the Congress.
Wherever he stopped to interact with farmers, a large number of people gathered to catch a glimpse of Jagan.
