Hyderabad, October 28: Former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s son and Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy is likely to take up mass-contact programme in the State. He is expected to begin the programme on the late prime minister Indira Gandhi’s brith anniversary on November 19 and from Anantapur district which will be extended to other parts of the State.
As part of the programme, Jaganmohan Reddy will contact the family members of those who had either died due to shock or committed suicide following the untimely demise of Rajasekhara Reddy. He will also provide some financial relief to the members of the deceased families.
According to Congress leaders supporting Jagan, as many as 600 people died following Rajasekhara Reddy’s death. Rajasekhara Reddy’s loyalist and Agriculture Minister N Raguveera Reddy and District Conmgress Committee (DCC) leaders are busy finalising the programme.
The leaders want to take lead in showing Jagan loyalists in other district how to organise the mass contact programme.
The Congress leaders want to highlight the leadership qualities of Jagan during the programme.
The supporters of Jagan want the Cainet expansion to take place and a visit to the district by Chief Minister Rosaiah and hence they chose November 19 by which time they expect the two developments would be over.
The organisers are taking enough precaution not to rub the Congress high command on the wrong side and the programme would be expected to be in line with the party’s central leadership.
