Hyderabad, April 25: With the Legislature Secretariat serving notices on MLAs K Surekha (Parakala), G Srikanth Reddy (Rayachoti), A Amarnath Reddy (Rajampet) and C Adinarayana Reddy (Jammalamadugu), all MLAs and MLCs loyal to YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy are mulling resignations en masse to destabilise the Kiran Government.
It is not clear how many of the 20-odd MLAs and MLCs loyal to Jagan will take the risk of contesting byelections. They are likely to take a call only after getting the green signal from Jagan who is now busy with the Kadapa bypolls. He has convened a meeting of his loyalists at Pulivendula to discuss the issue of notices to the four MLAs.
Former minister and MLA Balineni Srinivasa Reddy said, “we can resign before the Congress leadership moves against us.
However, a final decision will be taken after consultations with Jagan.” It is learnt that the Congress leadership is keen to take action like expelling some of the rebel MLAs and MLCs from the party and ensuring the disqualification of some of them from the Assembly.
The Congress Legislature Party has already submitted petitions to Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar seeking disqualification of the four rebel MLAs.
